TAX WORKSHOP FOR NEW SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS IN FLORENCE

FLORENCE, SC. - The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is sponsoring a tax workshop for small business owners or prospective small business owners in the Florence/Darlington area on Thursday, June 5, 2007, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Florence/Darlington Technical College, 2715 West Lucas Street (Hwy 52), Building 100, Room 109. Co-sponsors of the workshop include: the South Carolina Department of Revenue, the South Carolina Society of Enrolled Agents, the South Carolina Employment Security Commission, and the Small Business Development Center. “This workshop is a public service for those who have small businesses or may be thinking about going into business,” said Mark Hanson, IRS spokesperson. Hanson added that while IRS sponsors the event, “the classes are conducted by local certified public accountants or enrolled agents, IRS representatives are not present,” he said.

The workshop is designed to provide information and instruction about business taxes, tax benefits, and obligations connected with starting a business as well as tax responsibilities for new employers. Other topics to be discussed include tax record keeping and tax filing deadlines. The morning portion of the workshop will cover federal tax requirements. The afternoon session will cover state tax and employment security obligations.

To register for the workshop or to get more information, call the Florence Chamber (843) 665-0515 today.

South Carolina Heroes Appreciated; more Educators to become Homeowners;really values its educators

Posted by CoraLJohnson on May 14th, 2008

The SC Housing Authority selected the Hero for the 2008 initiative as “Teachers”. You must have your South Carolina Teachers Certification and currently teach or have a contract to begin teaching within 60 days of closing on a home; must live and teach in South Carolina to be eligible. Funding available for teacher housing. In terms of everyday living no tool for our young people is as powerful as enhancing their ability to learn. This ability enables them to become the spiritually upright persons they can be. Keeping quality teachers in the area is a necessity. Local government as well as the financial sector is aware of this increasing need.
As a Realtor at Coldwell Banker I stand ready to assist anyone who wants to become a homeowner. However; this particular window of opportunity is open for teachers so please take advantage of it. Your mortgage officers, credit unions, or wherever you do your financing are ready to help our teachers become homeowners. Call me let’s get started.
